Celebrating Ten Years — EverGreen Club's 10th Anniversary & Mid-Autumn Festival 2026
September 25, 2026, was a day of double celebration. It was the traditional Chinese Mid-Autumn Festival — and it was also the tenth anniversary of the Orlando EverGreen Club. Members and friends gathered for a joyful celebration, looking back together on ten years of shared days and the warmth and happiness that have accompanied them along the way.
Ten years is a period worth treasuring; ten years is also a memory that binds friendships together and witnesses growth. From those first gatherings to becoming an important platform in the lives of many Chinese friends in Orlando, the EverGreen Club has come this far through the enthusiasm, friendship, and dedication of its members. This tenth-anniversary celebration, falling as it did during the Mid-Autumn season, added an even stronger atmosphere of reunion and peace.
Celebrating Ten Years Together
The celebration took place at the Senior Community Center on E. Marks Street — the very place where the club has met every Friday for ten years. That day, everyone arrived early in traditional attire, carrying flowers and food, greeting one another and chatting warmly. The celebration began to unfold in this festive and joyful atmosphere.
The event featured a rich and colorful program: poetry recitation, choir, duets, dance, traditional instrumental music, group dance, and more. Every performance had been polished through diligent rehearsal by the performers, showcasing the versatile talents of EverGreen's members and their pursuit of a quality life, and fully expressing everyone's love for a beautiful life. Through the joint efforts of those on stage and behind the scenes, the program directors, and all members, the celebration was a complete success.
The poetry recitation expressed, in beautiful words, everyone's treasuring of time, friendship, and reunion. Eight members — Michael, Sun Shifan, Si Chunrong, Diana, Hanfei, Wang Zhihe, Sophia, and Wu Tong — recited with deep feeling the poem 'Ten Years of EverGreen — Reunion Under the Mid-Autumn Moon,' ... The finale, 'Munao Zongge,' brought the entire celebration to its climax — almost all the members joined the long dance line, and everyone freely poured out their smiles in the joyful and rhythmic Jingpo dance steps! For EverGreen's members, this was not merely a performance but a family-style gathering in which everyone participated and shared together.
Food, Warmth, and the Taste of Home
In addition to the wonderful performances, this tenth-anniversary celebration also included a heartfelt Potluck food sharing. Members each brought carefully prepared dishes, and everyone gathered home-style cooking and specialty dishes together. The abundant food not only satisfied the palate and found the taste of home but also conveyed a rich sense of human warmth. The meaning of a potluck is not just 'sharing food' — it is a way of sharing life and sharing happiness.
